The tw-day sympsium held n the campus f Augustana Cllege, Rck Island, Illinis, April 5 and 6, 1967, explred the interrelatinship between the life sciences and engineering and attempted t make the scientific cmmunity mre aware f an interdisciplinary apprach t engineering. The sympsium sught t stimulate new mechanical engineering cncepts perhaps nt pssible utilizing data available nly thrugh ideas derived frm the traditinal physical sciences.
