After leaving school, the author spent ten years teaching adventure education to people of all ages and of different physical, cognitive and emotional abilities. During this time he continued to develop his personal knowledge and skill base by studying undergraduate BSc courses at Manchester Metropolitan University, Staffordshire University and the Open University which included Risk Management, Sport Science and (cognitive) Psychology. He spent four years working within the inclusion and intervention team at Holden Lane High School in Stoke on Trent delivering cluster wide intervention training before retraining to become a teacher of ICT. He has also taken the opportunity to complete a Masters in Computing at Keele University.
